SUMMARY
In this unit, students will study the human reproductive system. This includes both the female and the male reproductive organs, and the sexual characteristics of both girls and boys.
Students will explore the changes which take place in their bodies during adolescence, learning the causes of these changes and why they happen.
This unit also deals with reproduction: exploring pregnancy, the development of the foetus and the birth process. Students will also cover progress in child birth.
They will learn about ultrasound scans and consider how advances in medicine have lowered infant mortality.
