UNIT SUMMARY
This unit focuses on matter and its properties. Students will revise ideas from previous years, but study the subject in greater depth, and in more detail. They will consider pure and mixed substances, and learn how different mixtures are composed and whether these are homogenous or heterogeneous. They will learn five different methods of separation, some of which will be put into practice in the experiment section of the unit. Finally, students will learn about the effects of chemical changes on substances.
